Training
Alongside the implementation of an appropriate agricultural lending scheme in the PIs, an integral part of TAFF is the training and day-to-day coaching of a sufficient number of lending teams.
TAFF's trainings are designed to provide participants on branch as well as management level with the knowledge necessary to perform lending services successfully and sustainably.
Basic training is offered for loan officers and agronomists in the form of seminars and practical day-to-day training and coaching. The day-to-day training of loan officers and agronomists covers each step of the credit cycle starting from promotion and marketing to monitoring. The goal of the middle management training is to enable them to assess credit risks properly and make adequate decisions.
As of December 2011, TAFF has trained 311 loan officers, 21 agronomists and 98 trainees and 16 trainers in 35 different locations making the agriculturally most important regions of Tajikistan well covered.
The TAFF team is determined to build up a sustainable agri-lending structure by the end of a project. This can only be reached if multiplier mechanisms are built up in the PIs during the project lifetime. These multipliers will go through a training of trainers programme with a specific focus on methodological skills. Furthermore, the team will ensure that the staff chosen for key positions are professionals with an outstanding performance and knowledge about their respective business and do have the right attitude towards the implementation of their tasks.
